Terms of Service

Sci-App is a project of the Namur Center for Complex Systems. These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Sci-App's website and Apps. These Terms of Service limit Sci-App's liability and obligations to you, and grant Sci-App certain rights.

Your access to and use of the Site, Content, Data and/or Services are expressly conditioned on your compliance with these Terms of Service. By accessing or using the Site, Content, Data and/or Services you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not accept these terms of service in their entirety, you should stop to access or use the Site, Content, Data or Services.

You acknowledge and agree that you should not rely on the Site, Content, Data and Services for any reason. Sci-App offers a free service, and it should not be held responsible if this service was to be deficient. You further acknowledge and agree that you are solely responsible for maintaining your password and protecting all data and information that is stored in your account.

Sci-App does not claim any ownership rights in your data. Your data will automatically be erased from the database by deleting your account, and thus be ignored in future statistical analysis. By using the service, you agree that your data will be analysed for scientific purposes, and that the outcome of the research might be published in academic journals. The data may be shared with researchers from other universities, after they sign a non-disclosure agreement.

All right, title, and interest in and to the Site, Content, and Services are and will remain the exclusive property of Sci-App and its licensors, including all Intellectual Property Rights therein.

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the data gathering and visualization services. To provide our service, we collect the following information from our users:

  • Location and Time Information, using GPS or triangulation against the nearest cell phone towers.
  • Device Information. We will collect the type of device and version of its software that reported the data to Sci-App, if available.
  • User ID, Password and optional Email address.

We use the information that we collect for the following purposes:

  • To provide you suggestions of the train in which you are (Late for good).
  • To perform statistical analysis of human mobility.

We will not share or make available your personal information to any third party. We may use aggregated geohashing information to produce and display graphics on the Service for explanatory purposes.

Your location data is stored in an encrypted format. Despite our efforts, however, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable.
